So we went and saw Green Lantern tonight and it was very interesting. First off Ryan Reynolds is possibly one of the most tasty creatures to walk the earth, which I expressed in my Canada post (if you haven't read it, it read it). So I've come to share my thoughts on the movie, be them good or bad.
So my first problem is with the "elders" or whatever. They looked like a serious rip-off of Megamind. Really movie maker people, we are making movies about Cowboys and Aliens but we can't be out of stuff enough already to steal ideas from a children's movie done not even a year ago. Think. Think! Anyways just because you have a big ol blue head doesn't make you cool. Plus they had like these clear helmets on and they were just awwwwwwkward.
Then the evil guy that weirdly knew Hal (btw who names their kid Hal anymore???....no one) and Carol (once again. name issues.) and got possessed by the evil dude/"fear" looked like the love child of Mr. Rogers and Beetlejuice. He also got a big head halfway through. REALLY?! what is with these big heads?! Just because you have an oddly shaped and abnormally large head doesn't make you smart, or cool, or even half as cute as Ryan Reynolds. In fact, it takes you exactly the opposite. It just makes R squared look even more fabulous.
So the humor was funny and the plot was alright. It was a action packed show with a nice message, even if it wasn't on purpose. Blake Lively didn't add much to the show, but I would not consider it a waste of time. (I find it greatly disturbing that she is dating Leo DeCaprio. First off he is a little too old for her and more importantly he is waaaaaaaayyy to cool for her.)
P.S. Did you know that the original Green Lantern wasn't of caucasian decent? Yeah, they had a more authentic Green Lantern at Six Flags and consequently enlightened me and Brittany.
